- Taxis are coded as automobile or light truck according to
the number of passengers in the vehicle. For example, a taxi with
the driver and one passenger was classified as "auto occupancy 1",
with two passengers as "auto occupancy 2", etc. A taxi with just
the driver and no passenger was recorded as a "light truck".
- The Metro/Mississauga boundary station data were supplied by
Metro. Due to individual validation processes and time coverages,
there may be differences between the two data bases.
- 1991 counts were conducted from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- School bus counts are included in the 'other buses'
category.
- Truck drivers are not included in the total person category.
- High turnover in count staff resulted in shortage of counters
throughout the program. As a result, occupancy counts on some
freeway facilities were not undertaken. Therefore, 1989 freeway
counts must be review carefully and used with caution.
