Comment and Information for 1991 Peel Counts:

  1. Taxis are coded as automobile or light truck according to the number of passengers in the vehicle. For example, a taxi with the driver and one passenger was classified as "auto occupancy 1", with two passengers as "auto occupancy 2", etc. A taxi with just the driver and no passenger was recorded as a "light truck".
  2. The Metro/Mississauga boundary station data were supplied by Metro. Due to individual validation processes and time coverages, there may be differences between the two data bases.
  3. 1991 counts were conducted from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  4. School bus counts are included in the 'other buses' category.
  5. Truck drivers are not included in the total person category.
  6. High turnover in count staff resulted in shortage of counters throughout the program. As a result, occupancy counts on some freeway facilities were not undertaken. Therefore, 1989 freeway counts must be review carefully and used with caution.
