The GTA Integrated Network Coding Standard is documented in two parts: Notation and Coding Procedures. Since EMME/2 is the transportation planning tool used by the majority of planning agenciesin the GTA, EMME/2 network terminology is used frequently in this document.

The GTA Integrated Network was developed through the joint efforts of transportation planning staff of the Regional Municipalities of Durham, Halton, Hamilton-Wentwork, Peel and York, the City of Toronto, Toronto Transit Commission, GO Transit, Ministry of Transportation and the Data Management Group.
