Fifth Report of the 2006 TTS Series
The Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) is spatially partitioned into six Municipalities namely:
- City of Toronto (Former Metropolitan Toronto)
- City of Hamilton (Former Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth)
- Regional Municiaplity of Durham
- Regional Municipality of York
- Regional Municipality of Peel
- Regional Municipality of Halton
Each of these regions can in turn be spatially partitioned in a number of local municipalities. Overall, the total number of local areas in the GTHA is 36. This report presents information on demographic characteristics of GTHA residents and on travel in the GTHA summarized at the local municipality level.
